To accommodate our growing global community, the 2023 Resilience Run and related events will take place over an entire week! We are having a movement for mental health during RESILIENCE WEEK May 28th through June 4th, 2023. Our community is made of active, inspired, resilient people and we want you to move with your team, family, neighborhood, etc. for mental health. The Toronto Resilience Run will take place on Sunday May 28th and the UCLA Resilience Run will take place on Sunday June 4th. In between, we will have a surf in Australia for mental health, a walk in New Zealand, rows at rowing clubs around the world, and more! Whether you want to take part in our virtual 5k or plan your own movement event, please join us in our movement for mental health.
The purpose of the Resilience Run and the movement for mental health is to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention. The Resilience Run was started in honour of Natalie Puente, a UCLA rower who lost her life to suicide. Resilience Rally is a mental health non-profit organization on a mission to change the narrative surrounding mental illness. Instead of seeing mental illness as a weakness, we are rallying together to show people that living with a mental illness takes immense resilience. Despite this resilience, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-34.
We encourage everyone participating to buy this year's Resilience Run t-shirt! 100% of the proceeds from the apparel sales and donations for the run will go directly to our non-profit. With your help, our Resilience Rally provides compensation for professional individual and group counseling for each mental illness and for any demographic. We also offer mental health workshops, share stories of resilience, put on events and provide many mental health resources.
