Finding mental health care can feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to navigate where to go, what type of support you need, and how to afford it. This page was created to connect students, student athletes, recent graduates, and young adults with trusted mental health resources, including therapy, support groups, crisis services, and higher levels of care. Whether you're looking for support for yourself or someone you care about, we hope these resources help make the path to care a little easier.

Crisis and Urgent Mental Health Support

If you need immediate support, do not wait for a therapy appointment.

Options include:

  • 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (Call or Text 988)

  • Campus crisis services

  • Mental health urgent care centers

  • Emergency departments

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Therapy

Therapy can help individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, suicidal thoughts, or other mental health concerns.

Affordable Therapy Program

Our Affordable Therapy Program helps connect members of the Resilience Rally community with free and reduced cost therapy options. Through our partnership with BetterHelp, eligible individuals can start therapy for free and access ongoing reduced cost care.

Psychology Today Therapist Database

Psychology Today is one of the largest online therapist directories, helping individuals connect with licensed therapists, psychologists, counsellors, psychiatrists, treatment centers, and support groups. Users can search by location, insurance provider, specialty, therapy approach, identity, cost, and appointment availability, making it easier to find a provider who meets their needs.

Sol Health

Sol Health provides affordable virtual therapy designed specifically for young adults navigating life's transitions. Whether you're adjusting to college, starting a new career, exploring your identity, or managing stress and anxiety, their therapists offer personalized support at an accessible cost.

Grow Therapy

Grow Therapy helps individuals connect with licensed therapists and psychiatric providers for virtual and in person mental health care. The platform allows users to search for providers based on insurance, location, specialty, and treatment needs, making it easier to find the right fit while reducing barriers to care. Grow Therapy accepts many major insurance plans and offers both therapy and psychiatric services.

Open Path Collective

Open Path connects individuals with therapists who offer affordable therapy sessions for people without insurance or with limited financial resources. Many therapists offer reduced fee sessions ranging from approximately $40 to $70 per session.

Headway

Headway helps individuals find therapists and psychiatrists who accept insurance. The platform simplifies the process of finding in network mental health care and offers virtual and in person appointments.

Psychiatry and Medication Management

Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners can assess mental health concerns, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.

Intensive Support

Recovery.com

Recovery.com is an online resource that helps individuals and families find mental health, substance use, eating disorder, and trauma treatment programs. The platform allows users to explore treatment centers around the world, compare levels of care, read reviews, and learn about options such as residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs), and detox services. Recovery.com can be a helpful starting point for anyone seeking specialized treatment or a higher level of mental health care.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient Programs provide a higher level of support than traditional weekly therapy while allowing individuals to continue living at home.

An IOP may be helpful if:

  • Weekly therapy is not providing enough support

  • Symptoms are significantly impacting daily life

  • Additional structure and accountability are needed

  • Someone is stepping down from inpatient or residential treatment

 

Charlie Health

Charlie Health is a virtual Intensive Outpatient Program that works with many insurance plans and specializes in supporting teens, college students, and young adults. Programs include individual therapy, group therapy, family support, and psychiatric services.

Programs may include:

  • Individual therapy

  • Group therapy

  • Family therapy

  • Psychiatric support

  • Medication management

  • Safety planning

  • Coping and emotional regulation skills

BIPOC MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES
 

Therapy for Black Girls

A therapist directory and mental health platform designed to help Black women and girls connect with culturally responsive therapists, resources, and mental health education.

Therapy for Black Men

A directory focused on connecting Black men with therapists, coaches, and mental health resources that reflect their experiences and needs.

Latinx Therapy

A directory and mental health resource platform that connects Latinx individuals with culturally affirming therapists and educational resources.

Asian Mental Health Collective

A community organization offering therapist directories, support groups, educational resources, and community programs for Asian communities in the United States and Canada.

Inclusive Therapists

A therapist directory that helps individuals find providers based on cultural identity, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, faith, language, and other lived experiences.

Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective (BEAM)

A nonprofit organization focused on Black mental health, healing, community support, and wellness. BEAM also offers a directory of Black therapists and wellness practitioners.

Healing in Colour

A Canadian directory that helps connect BIPOC individuals with therapists committed to anti oppressive and culturally responsive care.

College and University Mental Health Resources

Many colleges and universities offer free or low cost mental health services for students. Walk in to the mental health centre, call or look them up online to browse their services.

Services may include:

  • Individual counselling

  • Crisis appointments

  • Group therapy

  • Workshops and wellness programming

  • Psychiatric services

  • Referrals to community providers

 

If you are a student, your campus counselling center is often one of the best places to start.

Support GrouPS

Support groups can reduce isolation by connecting people with others who understand what they are experiencing. Peer support can complement professional treatment and provide community, encouragement, and practical coping strategies.

NAMI Connection Support Groups

Free peer led support groups for individuals living with mental health conditions. Groups provide a safe environment to share experiences, build coping skills, and connect with others facing similar challenges.

 

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)

DBSA offers free online peer support groups for individuals living with depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood related challenges.

Mental Health America Online Community

A free online peer support platform where individuals can discuss mental health challenges, share experiences, and connect with others in a moderated environment.

SUBSTANCE USE AND RECOVERY

Steady Sunday

A supportive online community for young adults who are sober or sober curious. Through weekly meetings and peer connection, members can build community while prioritizing their mental health and wellbeing.

SMART Recovery

A science based recovery program that helps individuals build skills for managing urges, increasing motivation, coping with difficult emotions, and creating a balanced life. SMART Recovery offers free online and in person meetings and is a popular alternative to traditional 12 step programs.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Free peer led meetings available online and in person around the world.

 

EATING DISORDERS

National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA)

Education, screening tools, treatment resources, and support options for individuals and families.

Eating Disorder Hope

Offers treatment resources, support groups, and recovery education.

LGBTQ+ Mental Health Resources

Finding affirming care is an important part of mental health treatment.

 

The Trevor Project

Provides crisis support, education, and community resources for LGBTQ+ young people.
